Hip hop group MIB member Kangnam will be making his variety show debut.

Kangnam participated in a recent shoot for the upcoming 257th episode of KBS 2TV's 'Happy Together 3'. The 'New Bud' special of the show guest-featured 2AM's Jo Kwon, 2PM's Wooyoung, SISTAR's Dasom & Bora, Eun Ji Won, and MIB's very own Kangnam. Displaying his sense of humor, Kangnam proved that he was well suited for variety programs.

Despite this being his first variety show, the singer adjusted quicker than expected and created a lively atmosphere on set with his quirky and daring personality. He talked about the misunderstandings which sometimes occur due to his broken Korean, how people mistake him for Japanese superstar Kimura Takuya, the arguments which take place within his group, and more.

The singer also explained that he had met Eun Ji Won before either of them became K-Pop stars. When Eun Ji Won was studying overseas in Hawaii, Kangnam was attending the same school. Kangnam explained that Eun Ji Won was infamous at school, and evoked hearty laughs when he remarked that it was because Eun Ji Won had been expelled.

Breaking his fierce image and displaying his rather easy to approach personality and hilarious sense of humor, Kangnam who is currently the main vocalist of MIB created a fun atmosphere on set. Until now, MIB had been on very few broadcast programs with the exception of music programs, and Kangnam stole the show by displaying a new side of himself that's different from the Kangnam on stage.

"I was really nervous because it was my first variety show appearance, but everyone was so nice and accommodating that I was able to shoot comfortably," he said. "During the breaks, Yoo Jae Suk sunbaenim would encourage me and tell me to stay strong, and that was a big help. I would like to show the public a lot of myself through various programs."

Kangnam who has lived in Japan also has experience serving as the main vocalist of a band created by a major Japanese entertainment company. He has studied in Japan and Hawaii, and speaks Korean, Japanese, and English fluently. He has also displayed more charm and appeal through his tvN sitcom '21st Generation Family'.

The episode of 'Happy Together' airs on July 12th at 11:15PM KST.
